2.

last evening i began my senior project.
i started to work on the molds for the resin
to be poured into.
i used two storage containers for the mastermolds
and used caulk to create a mold within for the resin to
be poured into. between the plastic bin and the caulk i
spread a tin layer of petroleum jelly so that once dry, i can
remove the caulk mold. I will do the same thing when it
comes time to pour the resin into the caulk mold.
i used DAP Alex Plus as my caulking because it is an acrylic latex
plus silicone mix, so it will stay really flexible for quite some time.

the image below shows the first layer of caulk in the plastic bin. i figure it will sit for a few days, then i will apply the second coat. i assume i will end up adding around 6 layers or so.
